Woman: "The Holy Spirit makes contact with our spirit when we meditate, when the flesh is not in the way." Man: Thats not entirely correct. It is the mind first and foremost, not the body, that gets in the way of Oneness with Spirit. The Holy Spirit is already within us, sustaining our living, breathing existence and acting as conscience when we are not as one with Him. When we become still and separate from our mind we discover our innate Oneness with Him. He is the inseparable Light by which we, the watcher, see. It is the mind that produces all sense of separation from Him. Awareness, which all children are born with, and which we must return to, precedes all subsequent sense of mind identity, of all culturally induced identity, the illusion of being a separate entity from the Light of Awareness we come into the world with. "Except ye become as little children again..." In meditation we discover that we are already in Union with Him, that He has always been there beyond the mind, and that without Him we could not hope to existence. Awakening means to realize who we already are, but in order to awaken we must lay down the culture formed mind as the source of our identity. Returning home, like the prodigal son, means to leave behind mind and all its thoughts about who we are, as we return, once again, to the state of pure Awareness we were born with.
